These are both 1/16oz black jigheads with size 2 hooks, what I did different was I made hackle collars on both but insead of spinning on the hackle and leaving it stick out I pushed it back and tied over it to make a thread neck collar while the hackle sweeps back over the chenille body making for a larger profile. The top jig has a tail made with chartreuse bucktail, a little bit of black and yellow chenille for the body and orange saddle hackle for the collar...And yes, I finally used up my orange hackle! The bottom jig has a tail made from orange saddle hackle, plain black chenille for the body, and soft red grizzly hackle for the collar. The more I use the soft hackle the more I like it, it has a really nice look and action in the water and the fish have responded really good to it also.

Nice looking ties. When you're doing the collars bring it right up to the base of the jig, just like on a fly.

Thanks Fatman, normally I put the collars up against the head but on these I wanted a thread neck and the collar to be swept back, I saw a few jigs that were similar on other websites so I decided to come up with my own version.

Love the look of different segments from front to back.

Here is another option you might be interested in....... Redman had showed off something similar to those a litte while back but using bucktail as a collar. I have copied a few of his ties (original is the Rock-A-Roo) and i know a few others have too. :D

Thats what I'm after AtticaFish!!! I was watching a video from In-Fisherman and Doug Stange was fishing a hair jig he said was modeled after a Caps Rock-A-Roo and it looked like it was made with a thin chenille body wiboth long bucktail and shorter strands over top in a collar like fashion but it didn't have a tail as they were using the back of gulp minnows as a trailer. I decided to do something a little different and I was happy for the most part but the pics you posted is what I was after, so thanks for that as it just gave me a bunch of ideas!!
