Got some 1/64 heads in a trade with Redman here recently. Got some painted and baked last night... Had to tie a few up to try this holiday weekend! Nothing flashy, just simple, effective jigs. What y'all think? Tied another pink/blue/white, and am working on a couple "dirty chickens" now.

Fatman, trout flies start at size 12 remember! I just did a mess of #12 floss and tinsel wets and #16 peacock and starlings last week. Jigs are HUGE! :)

Glad you like those Zac. Nicely done. Any one of them will take a gill. Try a Berkley Crappie Nibblet on the back and you will take a few also. I have yet to see any maggots for sale in any of the local bait shops down here. I have to make or should I say grow my own. A big old catfish carcus a home built cage and a bucket the far corner of the property. Put wet saw dust in the bottom of the bucket cage with the catfish carcus inside. Wait three days and bait in the bucket. There are some guys that hang them from Cypress trees and they get huge schools of gills to congrate around the falling maggots but it also attracts Water moccasins so one but be a little cautious.

Yeah Zac, but take one of those 1/64th's and tie a nymph pattern on it and the hook point is up LOL. I'll take that 12 dry fly hook in the finger any day over the 6.

See you finally picked a vise. Did you get the L atch for the rotary arm.

Wish I had all the jigs I tied in that style . They sold year after year after year . I don't know how many jigs that were tied but I can tell you how much lead was used . It was a grunch.
