Here are a couple of minnow heads I did today. The top jig is a 1/16oz minnow head painted shad gray with black flake, I tied in black marabou on top of white marabou with silver flash for the tail. I tied in white grizzly soft hackle as the base of the tail and finished off the jig with a body of flathead minnow chenille. The bottom jig is the same 1/16oz minnow painted shad gray, but this on has a tail of silver blue fish hair tied on top of white fish hair with silver flash for the tail. I once again used the white grizzly soft hackle at the base of the tail because it gives the jig some nice movement in the water, as a collar it resembles gills and in front of the tail it moves like fins would and that is why I like using it. Once the hackle was tied in I finished off the jig with a body of shiner chenille, a simple jig that may produce some bites this spring.
