Stopped at the craft store yesterday. Looking at tail action of satin in the water comparing maribou, artic fox, buck tail, duck flank, calf tail, deer belly. I think the satin had a great motion. Anybody using a satin?

Nice jigs. Yes I have been using some jigs with just satin tied in for the tails, so far I'm not impressed with them for crappie fishing.

Thanks....and of course have no rabbit at the jig shop!

LOL that is how it goes.....

Wanted to say that our lakes have been muddy to stained while trying the satin jigs. They may be killer on the clear water lakes. I have not given up on the satin because of the movement it has when in the water. I do know that the thicker tied body's like you have tied works better than a thin body. Look forward to seeing how they work for you and the others here.

Nice work!!! Most here have been using a few satin strands over wool but yours is the first I saw with just a satin tail, great work!!!!

Alot of us are trying the satin but that's the first I've seen where the whole tail is made of it. Just looking at it seems it would cut down the strans of satin moving effectively ie.

In the water test comparing Satin it appeared to have a very good flow. I tried with less strands but the flow in water looked better with larger amount. Try them in a water tank and see what you think....you may be suprised! I have not tried them with this much Satin on crappies but very soon!!!!
