I really liked Pup's leggy jigs and Fatman's version as well so I dicided to do a couple myself, they didn't come out as nice but they'll work. These are 1/8oz Weedless football jigs, the top jig is painted watermelon and has a tail of olive craft fur and olive trilobal antron chenille for the body and medium green pumpkin silicone strand "legs" to finish it off. The bottom jig is painted brown with brown bucktail for the tail, brown chenille for the body, and coffee silicone strands for the "legs" to finish it off. The coffee colored silicone looks a little thicker than the silicone on the top jig because it is different material, the coffee is actually Bio-Silk Silicone strands and they look and feel like rubber and amazingly they have the action of rubber in the water with none of the drawbacks like melting or clumping up, it is really good stuff.

Nothing wrong with those!!!!!!!!! Are you glueing your weed guards in after tying??? Those could be tough to tie with them molded in. There are some pins the guys are using at TU.

Thans guys, you two really made nice ones which got me wanting to make a few to try out. FM, I glue the weedguards in after I tie, those are the FG12 5/64" weedguards, I hate the larger ones in jigs under 1/4oz so I use a 5/64" steel pin and I wrapped it in 26 gauge wire, that made the pin 1/8" diameter so it will fit in the weedguard slot and not lead excess lead flow out while a small portion of the pin sticks out into the head making the smaller 5/64" hole, I hope that makes sense to you. I like wire weedguards but I found that they do well in rocks and not much else unless I use 2 of them in a "v" configuation so I decided that if the fiber guards work for bigger jigs the smaller ones should be good too and yep, the small fiber guards work fantastic in rocks or wood and now that is what I like to have on my weedless models.

Yeah I know what your talking about!!!LOL I've read all the stuff at TU that Cadman gives info on. Don't know if the ones he using will meet your needs but I've seen your user name over there. Don't know how many you're making but he might be able to point you in the direction of a single peg so you don't have to wrap wire on them, you can check with him over there or PM here as he's on here now too.

FM, Ted(cadman) have been friends for a long time, we bounce ideas off each other when it comes to bass jigs and such and he has taught me a lot and I got my idea from him. The reason I have to wrap the wire around a pin is the slot in the mold is made for a 1/8" diameter pin so a 5/64" pin is to small and will fall out and if I tape it in the pin will be off center and lead will flow out from around the pin. Wrapping 26 gauge wire around a 5/64" pin makes the pin 1/8" in diameter so now it fits in the slot and keeps the lead from flowing around the small pin while still leaving a small hole for an FG12 weedguard rather than the standard FG30. So what I'm doing is basically making an adapter to downsize the weedguard, in order to do it with just a pin it would require a 1/8" diameter pin that stops right on the outside of the jighead and then turns into a 5/64" pin, I'm working on one but until I get one I need to use the wire wrapped pin as it works the best.

Okay I got ya!! Trust me I've learned alot from him, got my plans for making fluid beds from him. Also have some cool pics of different paint jobs he's done and I want to try but have to re-size to panfish size jigs. Thanks for the info - I have a buddy at work that asked me about pouring weedless jig heads and if I get a mold that info helps alot!!!!!!!!

Thanks
