Anyone ever made a plaster mold for lead pouring. Did it work well? How long do the last? Any suggestions?

Yep , but you can't get a glossy smooth finish without a high temp coating on them . Stuff is spensive! But on the other hand the little tiny mottled place aren't all that bad cause when you paint the head it sticks like he77 . You got to make the mold thick too . Turn your Lead pot down as low as you can . Give more time to cool and set before you open it . Trust me if it's a big amount of lead and you bust the mold some way while lead is just poured in it . Your gonna be one unhappy camper . Do what I do as a precaution . Keep a chilled 5 gal. bucket of water within 10 ft or so of you . That way if you get lead in your shoe or arm ya got a place to stick the burn .
