pillhead gill jig

Well, this one came off the vise tonight. One of Jungle Jim's pillhead jigs, rabbit tail, black gold chenille body over-wrapped with Senyo's Shaggy Dub. Think this will do the trick under a bobber for some hand-size gills?

Looks really good - with the buggy legs the gills should tear it up. But lurking there in the background is a pinkish colored jig head and it's looking like it's got a glitter coat on it?????

HA! No, that is just a plain ol' pink head. I tied a dozen or so to put in my box last night. Nothing overly fancy, just solid jigs to fish with. I'll post a pic later. Gonna try and knock out 100 kiptail jigs today.

When I was a kid there used to be a fly tied like that in a bumble be pattern . It caught everything that swam in a pond . Got a feeling that one will too.

Nice looking ties. Future project is getting some pillheads in three sizes nickle plated. Those jigs should wear out the crappie and gills.
