Orange over or Orange under.
I have been tying several of these and have a question for yall. Given other than color orientation these are identical jigs.
If you were to choose one of these two to fish with which would it be. Why?

Top one. Reason, in my opinion the darker color should be on top. Just like fish, the back is dark, belly is light. Just looks more natural.

I don't think it matters all that much, but I would reach for the top first.

The reason I don't think it matters is we're trying to imitate a wounded, dying minnow that's easy prey. Dying minnows will often lose their balance and swim on their sides or upside down.

Pending on how bad the bite is......humans say the top but the fish may say the bottom. Natural pick is top based on above conversation but thinking outside of the box has shot me some great deer and great crappies!!!!!

A chartreuse tail seems to be the ticket for catching fish here so I try to add to the chart like in your top jig. We live close enough to have a tie in. You could learn a lot seeing thing tied and tying along beside another tyer.

I've been pouring lead [RR's 1/16 & 1/32] tying off and on for about a year or so and never had anyone teach or show me anything, other what I have read about here and on the other board[you know]. I have watched a lot of videos on You Tube. Lately I have run out of jigs to tie so I've been buying a pack or two at a time.
I never had the luxury to see how others do it in person, and ask questions.
I do powder paint and cure my jig heads. I can't believe how easy that is.

Top one for same reasons stated above. Darker color more natural baitfish combo when on top. Love the color mix.
