This morning was cool, overcast, no wind. PERFECT conditions! I got to fish with my good friend Lance Dunham of L.D. Guide Service. Some of you might be familiar with Lance... he has been on quite a few national fishing shows, All Outdoors with Alan Probst, The Great Outdoors with Bob Ide, and Lance is quite an author penning monthly articles for regional fishing magazines: Susquehanna Fishing Magazine, The Sullivan Review, We Are... Penn Outdoors, and Mountain Home Magazine

Gettng ready! (Notice the roof is ripped off the pavillion... the flood was over the roof here, the pavillion is 20 higher on the bank)

Nice and placid. Visibility was 6 feet!! Crystal clear. Water temp 42-44F. Midge hatching everywhere! The bite was very slow. I played camera man most of the day since Lance wanted to film "cold-water" tactics for his new instructional DVD. This was really fun, LD had some great film equipment. I'm still learning how to use it properly but Lance is a patient teacher and his gear is easy to use. Then we went down river (on plane) and 30mph on a Jet Boat seems like 60mph!! A jet boat ride is the BEST ride in the world.... better than when I used to get incentive flights in the US Air Force! When only had 12 fish all day but I still had 110% worth of fun. I'd take a skunking everyday to fish with Lance. Good conversation, some good laughs, great scenery.... Lance is the luckiest guy I know... I wish I could work in his "office" every day.

It even better that we are friends! I went out again yesterday! He tested out some of my new marabou "popsicle" jigs. They worked great!! 10 bass all over 14" in 3 hours in 43F degree water. Cold water fishing is quite a challenge!
