Hello,
Have lurked here on & off for a few years. 
Originally from IL, but spent most of the last 10yrs in S. FL & the keys. Most recently have temporarily set up camp in N. WI. since may.
Have a lead pot & modest selection of molds. Have done a good deal of great lakes pier/shore fishing, inland lakes/rivers throughout WI, & N. ILin my years, & spent some years working offshore sportfishing charters in the FL keys, & I do quite a bit of peacock bass chasing in S. FL. as well.
Have dabbled with tying my own hair jigs since I was a youngster, but the bug really bit me about 10yrs ago. Since, hair jigs have become 1 of my go-to's for many scenarios from offshore tuna/mahi fishing, to UL crappie fishing.

Welcome to the site plunc.  Great looking jigs!  I know those will work on the norther species mentioned..... those Florida fish would be all new to me.  Glad to have you here!  :jig:

Sounds like you enjoyed a full plate of USA buffet. Guessing you got your fair share of nearshore salty critters too.

You seem to have definite color preferences, as most of us do. Getting lazy perhaps, I mostly fish softies on collared jig heads nowadays and prefer lighter colors than you for open water shoreline accessible species here in the middle of the midwest.

Do you fish at night ?

Surprisingly, I do next to no inshore saltwater fishing in FL. Have done it a handful of times, have a few friends who are backcountry guides who have taken me out a few times. My gig is mainly the offshore pelagic species.

Yes, I definitely have color preferences. In darker or stained water, I definitely lean to throwing darker colors.  This summer was spent in N. WI fishing mostly stained rivers/lakes, hence the dark jigs. For peacocks in FL, I definitely favor bright, fluorescent colors. Aside from that, Ive become pretty convinced on a few certainties in life:
-A black hair jig will catch smallies wherever they swim
-A purple hair jig will catch walleyes wherever they swim.

I do some night fishing, but its the exception vs the rule for most of my angling.
