New Color Combo

I tied this color last week and my brother in law in Jersey said that it was a killer for flounder.The flounder are moving in guys.Season starts middle of May.Painted the heads watermelon with some Fl. yellow sprinkled on the bottom.Olive upper tail with a thin sprig of Fl. yellow on the bottom.Beige thread body.I used a drop of Super Glue for the eyes.Going to see if they stay on without the clear nail polish.They look better this way.Whatcha Think ??

Looks great az. I was crappie fishing yesterday morning and I noticed I had a 3D eye on my hand. It had come off of a walleye head that I had sealed with Hard As Nails. I might start trying super glue myself.

Nice jig azslabber... Nail polish should work scott ya just gotta make sure you put it on thoroughly... Sometimes its hard to tell for me so I put a little extra for good luck

Ahhhh - i like it! Olive back and light colored belly - that could represent lord knows hows many fingerling bait fish! :jig:

I know you are worried about those eyes...... but do you seal your thread? I have given my bucktails and craft fur jigs a coat of polish over the thread for awhile now. Extra insurance from possible toothy critters and gives the thread a little of a shine/slime coat look.

I have been using cheap, thick sewing thread for these bucktails.I put a lot of clear nail polish on them.It sucks it right down to the hair.You can do a lot of tugging on that thick thread,lol.After I let them sit a day or so,I clear them again before I put them away.I really like that color combo.Thanks guys.

Another traditional super strong thread for big buckies is E or even heavier EE rod guide wrap thread. A jig maker in WA I know uses upholstery thread which is available with gloss colors.
