If you have to spend more than $20 bucks for a bobbin you have got to be pretty friggn lazy. Even $20 is a lot for a bobbin.. This along with the fin-nor bobbin are classic examples of "build it and some fool will buy it". If any of you out there have one - I don't mean to be insulting - just want to know why? I speed tye some times and have never found a need for an "automatic bobbin". And how hard is it to adjust the tension???

My bad Hunter

"My post was sarcasm!!!!!!!!" - So is my post. Sincere apology Hunter if you think it was directed at you. I know you have been in the business a long time and probably have seen it all…

I don't know about this auto bobbin... But I tie my smaller flies with a Rite bobbin. They are about 25 bucks. I do notice the difference when detail and slight tension changes are important. For 90% of my jig and warmwater fly tying, though, I use a standard ceramic-tip bobbin.
