At one time I thought I was going to tye all these fancy jigs and sell them. My arthritis won't let me sit a vice to tye more than what I will use myself and give away. ( I enjoy giving away my tye's as much as fishin them). Anyway, Ive come to the conclusioun that I have too much paint. There are about 10 colors that I paint and I don't need more. I have a inventory of 90 different colors that I came up with. Each is in a 4OZ. jar with a painted washer glued on top. Every color I have is like new condition. What would a collection of say 70 colors be worth? Most jars are at least half full. I want to give somesome a great deal. I really want someone that loves to paint like I do to get these. I have no idea what to ask. This won't be posted on any other board. If the right young man and his son respond with a fair offer they belong to them. Hint...they live in LA.

I'll sell them to anyone. I got Adam's son tyeing, and gave him tons of stuff. Adam is proud, and won't let me sent him anything anymore. He is a hard worker and has little expendable income. If he don't chime in, please give me a idea of a fair price.

It's several different suppliers We had a paint deal on Crappie.com that Rad ran that we all go so much of each color. I went crazy with mixing. Let me tell a story for those who don't know. Adan....Lost Pole... got his name because of me. He was fishin with me in the East Pearl out on my Nitro. We hit a wake from one of the Seal Team boats out of Stennis and his rod bounched out of the boat. It was a high dollar rod that his father had given him. We turned around and tried to find it, but was not succesfull.....Thus Lost Pole. To me, he is kinda a adopted son, he just don't realize it and won't even give me his address.

Hats off to you Gary! Adam - take a deep breath and say OK!!! ;)

90 colors!!! Really????? Wow! Think i'm up to 10 now.

I guess you can go by the numbers just to get a start, no clue what you would have paid for it all but....... The paint i have was purchased for an avg. of $5.50 per 2oz. jar. Easy math there, IF i had bought it myself for that cost, i would consider 4oz. jars half-full worth the $5.50. Soooo $5.50 x 70 = $385. Inflation, depreacation (sp?) and used product - lets just say $300-$350. Now if i wanted to just unload it, i would think half the price at $150~$175. And to a friend, probably fudge it a little more.... but that is just me and have no clue what you would have invested in.

You're crazy Mr. G. I owe you so much already. I would never in a million years consider purchasing anything off you for MORE THAN full price. Was hoping you'd stick around here long enough to repay you for what you did for me n Pistol in other ways than money. If I had known you were gonna move so soon I wldnt have accepted.
You did a lot more for me than you know. Was at a bad point in life Bf you came along. You gave me something other to think about than what I was going through. That's why I've never bought jig heads at those great prices you gave me. I already owe you. I owe Ron Don for the spinners he sent to Pistol for his bday and great prices on heads he gave me. I owe LedHed for the mesh he sent me when I was struggling with my fluid bed. Dont like that feeling. I worked hard all my life to have the things I had and now I still have to help pay for them w/o having them. It's ok though.
With all that being said, I'll def pass.
If you lived around the corner it would be a diff story. I'm not poor and I work very hard. But I have a weakness for my past and my sons smile.
Hold on to those paints, and make people smile with 'em. Never have figured out y you don't sell. Easily the best painter I've seen. Doesn't mean you can't sell and give to people. I give away 90% of what i make bc it makes me happy. Not bc people catch with em but bc they eat with em. But decided that's gotta change bc I have to eat too. You'll regret it if you get rid of them.
Thx friend.

LP - i've seen you make offers to quite a few people (as well as myself) in the past of things you have xtras of and as far as i'm concerned... that is 're-paying' for things given to you by others. Call it paying forward, karma or what you will, it's all the big circle that eventually come back to you. Can't speak for your individual circumstances since i do not know them, but I know the feeling of wanting to give back... have a list of people in my back pocket as well who have helped me out in both tough times and just because they wanted to - hopefully i can check them all off somewhere down the line.

Wish i knew more of you guys personaly rather than through the net - makes me proud of my extended family here.

Better keep a copy of the recipe book with pics for when you make it back down and we can have some sessions. I need a recipe for Hunter Green to tie some specifics and sweet talk a swamp guide out of honey holes.
And I need you to tell me how you're pulling your caps off w/o destroying them.
Will give you a call this week.

I really don't have a recipe book. Just a little of this and a little of that. I have a small box started to send your way. What are you talking about caps?

The test caps to cover your screw cups. I push em down tiiiiight and put a bunch of em in sterilite containers. If the humidity gets to them they start to clump and become next to in-usable in a fluid bed.
So when it comes time to use a cup, I grab a corner of the test cap with pliers or forceps and pry it off, which usually crimps it.
Got a better method?
