I generally avoid the latest tackle fads, waiting for them to be tested and proven over time, but had some mold spec Owner 5313 hooks and wire keepers laying around so got the mold.  Dunno if my original vintage keepers are thicker than current issue, but the mold wouldn't close with them inserted & it took many hours of hand tooling with an awl and abrasive Dremel bits to deepen the slots to fit.

Anyone else encountered this problem, and perhaps can suggest a better fix?

I used the exact keepers the description asked for. They are very thin wire. We'll see how well they hold plastic this summer...
