Anyone know where I can buy Unpainted lead 1/32 lure bodies? I'm wanting to make some Rooster Tail Type spinners. Janns sells painted ones but I'd like to paint them myself. I know I can buy a mold but to be honest I don't really want to pour my own (at least not right now).

Jans is the only place I have seen the 1/32 ounce, If it were me, I would probably buy the pearl with silver scale and not worry about priming as they are already primed.

I did a quick search and found a site selling them all sizes at a reasonable price
http://www.crawdadsfishingtackle.com/100-raw-lure-bodies-tackle-making-or-slip-sinker/

I did scroll thru all the lure parts offerings and they do have 25 packs available!

for the price difference, I would still stick with the coated ones from Jans but I already have a lifetime supply of rooster tails!

How many you lookin for?

Well I was looking to get like 50 or a 100. I ended up buying some painted ones from Janns along with a few other things. Wanted to make some trout spinners for my dad and brother for Christmas. I've never really done any kind of wire bending so we'll just have to see how they turn out. :)

For in-line spinners you can get by with flush cutters and a pair of round nose pliers. Craft stores carry then in jewelry making section. One of my sisters is into making wire jewelry and we compare notes. They got a plier that can form a loop by squeezing it over the end of the wire.

I had a pair that I really liked that you placed the wire on a nail and then tightened the the Pliers around it .. Lost during a time of inactivity .. If any one knows of this type I sure would like to know.
