Anybody here ever tried powder painting lead dumbbell eyes? Surely it would look better and be more durable than the painted ones that are available.

I havn't tried it recently, used to paint eyes on them using vinyl paint many years ago. They probably would look better since my painting skills have improved a little since then.I don't have any right now, just the bead chains. Those may work as well.

I have tried the bead chain, but the beads swivel around so much that I didn't like it. I was just thinking some of the nice colors I can get from using powder paint, that they would look better than the commercially-available ones.

jjs, I have only tried painting them off the hook. When I am tying with them, I do use a dab of head cement to lock them in place.

The only problem with powder paiting them is holding them while heating and hanging them to dty or cure.I tried powder painting some slip sinkers and what a hastle that turned out to be,lol.
