Great pics,the gills are so much wider than the redear. You have a lot more posting to do to catch up judging by the dates.

Awesome fight on 2lb test - nothing like it. The big ones should be going off pretty soon. My buddy Jim has been seeing some really nice ones out of the deep.

How do you fish for them once they move deep?

We sure are lucky Adam - with some cool looking fish.

SH - we anchor off this place we call the canyon in ~31 FOW - close to the inlet of the lake and wait for the bait to show up. Also anchor in ~21 FOW and fish close to where the aerator and outlet are. Both spots are next to drop offs. And we troll over water up to 70' following Grebes that follow the bait fish (Emerald Shiners & Threadfin Shad).

Dang Sonny, you're driving me crazy with these slab gill pics! Those are awesome. I might have to trade you a crappie fishing trip for a gill trip some day.
