An epic day at LP (means lots of pics). Wide open Bite for 3 hours, could only fish one pole, and left them biting. Plus hooked something BIG, couldn't landed and didn't know what it was. Chased it on the trolling motor but no fish.

Awesome fight on 2lb test - nothing like it. The big ones should be going off pretty soon. My buddy Jim has been seeing some really nice ones out of the deep.

How do you fish for them once they move deep?

We sure are lucky Adam - with some cool looking fish.

SH - we anchor off this place we call the canyon in ~31 FOW - close to the inlet of the lake and wait for the bait to show up. Also anchor in ~21 FOW and fish close to where the aerator and outlet are. Both spots are next to drop offs. And we troll over water up to 70' following Grebes that follow the bait fish (Emerald Shiners & Threadfin Shad).

Dang Sonny, you're driving me crazy with these slab gill pics! Those are awesome. I might have to trade you a crappie fishing trip for a gill trip some day.
