It was a real good day for Redear fishing. Granted they ain’t the giants but all are in the 10” to 11” class. The majority of the fish came in 6’ to 12’ – surface water is 64.7* F. Me and my boy Tu were using 2lb test & crawlers with a 1/32nd football and I used my CK3 special (John must have been smiling on me today). We also used the chub (1/48th) and the chub belly spinner (1/24th) with crickets. Tu caught 3 nice Bluegill using a 1/32nd Tyrone (LP OG jig) also. We kept 38 Redear and 2 Bluegill.

Two bags were 40lbs+, ask Tu - he carried them (LOL). Great day left them biting for tomorrow…

Thnx all

JJ1 - That's my guesstamate. The rod/reel in the picture is the Phenix Elixir FX701-1 (2-6LB) with Pluger Patriarch. Was also using St.Croix Premier PS66ULF (2-6LB) with a Shimano Saros 1000 and a Custom wrap California IM7 blank 7' 2-piece (2-6LB) with a Pluger Supreme XT - all strung with Yo-Zuri hybrid 2lb green.

Great detailed report - no questions for a change.

Except, how do you like the Patriarch 9525 compared to the Saros 1000?

That Hybrid soft must be pretty popular - none on eBay dump stores though lots of regular Hybrid.

DC - anytime, can't promise they will be biting though. We had a blast when Jungle was out here. He got his PB Bluegill and I think Redear also. It'll probably start slowing down in a couple of weeks. You should see what we have been doing in the last couple of months.
