Our kayak club made a trip to Beaufort SC over the weekend for some salt water fishing but the main goal was to fish for shark. We fished Friday from 9am to 5pm with a lot of small shark caught with the biggest being 6'. Saturday we fished from 8:30 to 4:00pm when a massage storm built around us and caught us out 6 miles from the dock, got very intense for the paddle back to the ramp in very heavy rains and lighting. I was so glad I have a set-on-top kayak!! Like Friday a lot of smaller shark were caught in the 14" to 24" class with three Bonnethead right at 40'', I was lucky to have caught one of these. Also caught were a few Hammerheads, Stingrays and Crokers. Two of the Rays were 4', I caught one about 16''. Sunday three of use stayed to fish until noon and we caught 20 shark between us. No big ones over 26''.

Was a blast catching them fishing out of the kayak!!!! I am looking forward to going back and hope to hook up with some bigger shark. :)
One big shark (over 8') was hooked but it broke the 80 pound braid, maybe one of those next trip.

Some pics from the trip with some pics with my friend Barry and his sharks.

Thanks for your comments guys.
Jim we used shrimp we bought at the bait-shop and used a cast net at the landing to catch mud-minnows. If we caught some of the small fish like crokers we would hook them on the bigger hooks and cut the sides so the would bleed out. That is what the bigger sharks hit.

Insane - looks like fun. Congrats on a fun outing!

They got guys out here that fish for Makos and Threshers in yaks - I'll just stick with Bluegill on a pontoon.
