Hi jigcraft members, i was gonna try my hand at making some different ice jig styles to use for open water jigging for panfish and i was just wondering if anyone would mind posting some pics of different ice jigs so i could get a good idea

What style ice jigs are you talking about..... the micro spoons or tiny jigs?

I do use a lot of small jigs both through the ice and open water. Small round shot crimped on mustad 3366 hooks are one of my favorites to use now. 1/64 and smaller heads with traditional jig work excellent too.

Through the ice, i keep the ties to a bare minimum and almost always tip with waxies or spikes.

Open water - last year i had excellent success with these style of tied jigs. Occasionally i needed to tip with a crawler chunk or waxworm - but most of the time the gills would readily hit them without a bait tip. Dragging them over rip-rap and down into deeper, silted substrates. When they hit the mud bottom, they got eaten. Several days i was able to catch limits of catfish along with some stringers of nice bluegill.

I posted this picture awhile back....
