I called some tire stores today. Most of them said they contracted out to people but one said we have some lead you can have. They are only open in the week so hopefully my mom or someone can take me sometime. I even called a scrap yard and they said they were out of lead and had only 5lbs. I hope they have a full bucket of wheel weights and they will give it to me for free. That tire shop is only 1 mile away from me too. I might even get a bucket and put my name on it and tell them to put the used lead WW in it.

your lucky, all the ones around my area , either have corporate rules where they put in certain receptacles per company standard , and pay a recycling company to retrieve, or have a trade in program with the manufacturer of the WW they purchase from.

I'd be taking a good look to make sure they're not all zinc!!! Just remember you will have to get rid of the ones you can't use.

My dad took me to the tire store today. I got about 19lbs of zinc, steel, and lead WW. I got some stick ons and some regular WW. I sorted the WW by type, zinc, steel, lead , and pure lead stick on, and hard lead alloy stick on. Here is a pic.

In regards to your wrinkle problem with sinkers,there is a mold release agent called Drop out that I use when I'm having issues with a jig mold. Shake it up,spray it on,let it sit for five minutes or so and pouring problem is solved. Barlow's and Zeiner's sells it,about $9.50 a can. I bought mine a couple years ago and I'm still working with that can.

I got some more weights. I got them from a small salvage yard i only been to once. Not going there again as i pulled about 6.4lbs of lead ww from cars and they charged me $10. So now I have a total of 25.2lbs of lead ww with an average price per lb of 39cents per lb. I got about 16lbs of lead clip ons yesterday for free and 9lbs of clip ons today for $10. I should have lied to the guy and told him I had only 5dollars and saved some money. Yesterday the guys were nice at the tire shop, but the guys today at the small salvage yard are a**h****. Never again going to that small salvage yard. I will stick with that big salvage yard I have talk to you people about and that tire store I went to yesterday.

and Melt send me sinkers LOL I've got more sinkers that have to be melted down than you have. Everything less than a 1/2 ounce are illegal for use in Vermont, this is one of 3 bags of the 1/8th sinkers that have to be melted down and put into ingots. And I just traded some Horseheads w/selected blades for pure lead so I'm looking for lead too. I've never had to buy it yet and don't want too!!!!!!!!

Split shot, and sinkers less than 1/2 oz are illegal. Jigs and lures with lead are ok for right now

No and it won't be going out either!!!!! What I do with lots' of the horseheads is trade them for other stuff!!! (Why you got something good to trade????)) There's a material swap box on the other board and I'm in that. Last round got a bunch of chennille I didn't have. and pretty soon they are getting used!!!!!!!!!
