Howdy jig folks! This is OKSTATEjiggy, back after about 6 months. Today is the first day I've checked out jigcraft in that time and all I can say is "WOW!" You people are making some killer jigs and flies. I'm very glad I logged on and hope y'all welcome me back.

I have sinced moved from Stillwater to OKC. My drinking and partying got way out of control in college there, and I have quit the booze entirely and have replaced all that nonsense with fishing and work and camping and just getting away from concrete in general, and seeking a spiritual understanding of life, which, as has always been the case, is easily accessed in nature and in the mouths of fish. :D I haven't been doing any tying as my current home isn't too condusive to bits of feather, clumps of bucktail, and scraps of yarn floating about, but I sure do miss it. I need to start tying though, if for nothing else than for my wallet! I've been decorating the trees along the banks of the Lower Mountain Fork in SE OK with bead-head wooly buggers and soft hackles, and they do get expensive.

Anyway, please welcome me back. I'll gladly accept probation. :) Ledhed, Attica, and the rest, I've been missin you jig-crafters.

OKies got trout?

I don't understand, jigs can be tied anywhere - my "work station" is a folding scissors leg TV table in front of a love seat. You got rugrats?

Welcome back jiggy - i must agree, avoid the concrete as much as possible!!! No probabation required - just glad to have you back. Fishing more with the long rod - what kind of fish are you chasing in your new location?

Sounds good that you are getting settled in where you are now and hope to see some flies and jigs being tied up when you get a chance. Pictures of fish/streams/lakes/wildlife always appreciated as well. :jig: Russ

Well now all I can say is its about time. Warm them fingers up and get to tying or lying . Every fish story has a ring of truth in it.

We all have our ups that are really downs. I've learned you can't exclude either side of the spectrum b/c the other will always be there. I bounce around like a pogo ball among most faces and sun rotations. But my heart rate slows to the pace of slight movements in piles of fallen leaves, in the presence of diff. faces that are comfortable with only facial expressions AND near the water.
It's all just relative to the user. I hope you find the happy medium.
New here, but have met nothing but kind people with out-stretched hands and no stringers.
Take care,

Adam

Attica- I've been driving 4 hours SE to a tailwater trout fishery near Broken Bow, OK. I had my best trout trip ever about a month ago- caught one rainbow near 20 inches, two others that were close to that size, and several other small 'bows and brown trout. One of the rainbows proved to be the favorite fish I've caught- he hit a black wooly and nosed out in heavy current and went straight downstream, stripping line off my reel and making me run and hop over logs and boulders to catch up with him. Caught and released to fight another day. I'm thinking about going crappie-jiggin' in the morning, and will probably use that black/silver/chart jig and a black/pank.

Led- what's good in SoCal?

Hawn- nah, I share a house with several other people and there's not a lot of room. I probably will break out de TV tray and get to tying after looking at all creations here at jigcraft

Lostpole- no medium, I'm stricken with an absolute mindset that goes either one way or another, so it's with the fishes for me. ;)

Hi Pup, Scott, Toad!
