The 90-degree weather has kept me inside or doing work around the house. Yesterday I finally got out and the weather was perfect: a 10 mph wind, partly cloudy and 85 degrees.
I wanted to try different trusted lures to see how many fish each could catch given the drought and low water in a local lake.
38 fish not including the ones that got away - not too bad though no lunkers. More important was knowing which ones to reproduce and keep on hand for future outings.
I started out using a Bass Assassin grub which has always caught fish.

After catching 6 more fish with it I tied on a bulb body lure:

Even this little guy and 3 others just like it hit it:

The double tail wacky rig did well but only bass:

The shad tail hybrid did very well maybe because the water was a dense green from suspended algae normal in ho weather (note the background).

Tapered tails also did well:

The Crappie Magnet hybrid double tail always catches fish:

Nice to feel strikes after a long period of wishing I could brave the heat and not faint.
