I'm going on a 4 day fishing trip to Grenada Lake on the 29th. I've been tying some big jigs for the big mouths up there. These are 1/4 oz walleye heads on #1 sickles with magnum rabbit zonker.

The Magnolia Crappie Club had a tourney at Grenada last Saturday and the winners had over 18 lbs for a 7 fish weigh in. The last pay out spot was 15th place and they had over 15 lbs. The average size for all fish weighed was 1.99 lbs.

Man are you lucky! I'd give my left test ick hull to spend a couple weeks on that lake.
Those are sweeeeet. And exactly the colors I'd be using. Did you pour the heads? I have a need fir the weight … not sure about them big ol hooks.

Hope you tear into 'em something fierce, man.
AND
If they're spawning I hope you pick up one of those poles! :fishing:

Next mount has to be a 4… or at least a 3.5. :bigfish: :P

Think I learned smilie things now…

Everyones in trouble.

Gluck Scott! look forward to the smiles in the pics.

Good looking jigs. The big fisb bite is on at Grenada for sure. A good friend of mine finished 16th in that tournament with 15.05 lbs. what would be a day of a lifetime for most of us did not even get them a payout check. I for one would not mind finishing one out of the money if I could catch 7 fish weighing 15 lbs. They had several over 2 1/2 in the tournament and prefishing. I just tied 75 jigs for a guy leaving Friday to prefish for Crappie Masters tournament next weekend.

They're having a C.com fruit jar tourney on Grenada this Saturday. I sent a buddy 30 jigs yesterday for him to use in that tournament. Most folks use big minnows there but I've done better with jigs in the spring.

Thanks guys, I'll post some pics of the trip. The Crappie Masters State Championship tourney will be going on that weekend so it's gonna be crowded.

Thanks guys, Ronny it's hard to believe the size of the crappie there. The one in my avitar was 2.75. I caught it there in April, last year. I kinda wish I had waited for a 3 pounder to mount but I was awful proud of this one LOL

1/4 oz's and a #1 hook...... WOW that is big for me to get my mind around the thought of crappie eating. Them some big crappie! The #1 spot on that board had an average of 2.5lb fish. :bigfish:
