Presenting the tag team duo...

Both bullet heads are weighing in at 1/4oz. - with a powerfull 4/0 Ultra Point black nickel right 'hook' - these bad boys will be swimming/ripping through some weedy holes at my local sweet spot this spring. :D

Arkansas Buck/Rabbit Shad: Sporting a 2-tone magnum rabbit zonker tail with gray bucktail body and trimmed with pearl midge flash throughout. Just a pinch of red flash at the throat...

Shad n' Jig: Dressed with a 5" American Shad color TurboFlare Skirt, this competitor will most likely be bringing a Northern Bluegill 5" Kalins Grub as a trailer to the fight... or maybe an all black cut-off ribbon tail power bait as a back up. Happy swimming. :)

The bullet heads came from Cadman. I painted them with black and platinum nail polish, put some multi-color glitter polish to the top and red glitter to the gill area. Added some 3D eyes and coated the whole works with 5-min. epoxy when i added on the weed guards. The tied jig will be thrown carefully.... took me almost half an hour to tie!!!! Haha, fun time well spent. Look out big mouths!

AF,

Nice-looking jigs. Exceptional paint job. Your epoxy coat looks great! Did you add thinner to your 5-minute epoxy? Great work with the multi-color/glitter.

I use 5-minute epoxy occasionally, but have to thin it with isopropyl alcohol in order to buy extra working time for multiple jigs.

Thanks for the comments everyone! :)

LH - Powder paint one of these days... but wow would i need lots of different colors! For now - NP is fairly cheap with hundreds of colors to choose from and if i don't like the result of a color - my daughter will gladly take it. It has taken some time, but have figured out ways to blend colors top to bottom and make a smooth gradient.

Pup - I did not use thinner, but can see where it would be needed with this 5 min stuff. Will give it a try. Only did these 2 heads and weed guards on 2 others - any more time and it would have gotten too hard to deal with!

RD & JSC - :D @ 1/4oz., these will ONLY be tied on one of my walleye/bass medium action rods that are spooled with 12lb line. If i loose one on a monster fish, that wouldn't hurt my feelings too bad...... on a rock or downed tree - cover your ears children!!!!!!!

steve r. - Never gave these a thought for the smallies, that 4/0 hook looks HUGE!!! :P I bet the style would work though, may have to make some up with lighter heads/smaller hooks.

NIIICE! Great looking ties! I especially like the heads you painted and epoxied. That epoxy over the paint/polish and glitter really brings it to life. The time you put into those jigs really shows. :icon14:

Half hour to tie? You're looking at a few hours of time for me to get one of those done. Really nice work.Paint is exceptional.
