Fyrod Football Jig Emulation

Used two hematite beads from a necklace bought at Micheal's threaded on a pin to make the head. Added a Zoom Chunk trailer and palmered with black "Diso Yarn" to make the skirt.



Can't wait to toss this with my 8 weight with fast full sinking line. I think the smallies are gonna like it.

Hey Joe,
I love the creative aspects of fly/jig fishing and tying. I have caught rainbow trout bigger than most guys ever see on some of my creations. I belong to a flyfishing club and catch a rainbow every year between 8 to ten pounds. Those fish never see stuff like this so I'll give it a go there as well.

Could I suggest an orange or salmon colored trailer? Might look more like a crawdad.

Cool creation and rough/buggy look, would make a look-alike for a few different critters that bass will eat.

Would have a rough time casting that one myself and probably throw off the trailer in the process. Any kind of plastic bait on fly lures, i have to use a keeper barb made from a bent back staple.

That's one of the nice things about pouring and tying your own, you won't see any in the store. Nicely tied jig there. Lets see a photo of what you get with it.

Good suggestion on the trailer Joe. I need to get some in that colour as crayfish are key for bass and big trout.

So many ways to put something in front of the fish that they have never seen.

That's exactly what motivates me Stumphunter.

Attica, plastics cast better than you'd think as long as you don't false cast excessively. Also a bit of superglue helps.
