We some how dodged the rain today. The sun was out and the sky was blue! Had a pretty good wind but knew we could get up in a narrow slough to get out of it. We fished in 2 to 4 FOW up next to cypress trees. I wasnt expecting much with all the rain we've had the past few days BUT we had a blast! We probably caught around 30 of the mean ole black males!

Meant to say we were using 1.75" cajun fryes. I was using Russ' silver with black flake. Dad started puttin a whoopin on me when he slapped on a toxic toad! I was using a chubspin head jiggin round the trees. Water was 64 degrees.

Looks like a really cool stretch of water! Would love to fish amongst cypress some day, nothing even close to the way that looks up here. Those fish are very colorful too - are they in full spawn or just staking out their claim and getting ready?

I did notice the silver/pepper bait - :icon14: :icon14:

Looks like "Pole Bendin Water" to me.

We got that rain and some of our water is high enough to see under it.

Looks like U had a good day.

Yeah Russ I tried out the ole Silver Seed. It passed!;)
Its just beginning. Next couple weeks would be great but lots of rain in the forecast for the next few days. Got a couple inches tonight. I was in the shop baggin baits and looked down and saw water all over the floor.

We are very lucky to have so many bayous and sloughs here in LA. Those river fish fight better than lake fish!

Fatman believe it or not all fish were released!

Looks like a beauty of a fishin hole and a very productive day. Those fellas are dark! We'll have to wait a few more weeks to see them around here.
