Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't been on much. My life has been turned upside down and I'm trying to figure out what's next for me.

I've been having vision problems for about the last year. Whenever I read or use my eyes heavily for a few minutes, I start seeing double. My eye doc told me I have cataracts and needed surgery on both eyes. I also have glaucoma, which was diagnosed when I was in my early 30's about 20 years ago.

on the 19th, I had surgery on my right eye and things didn't go well. My Iris detached and is just floating around my eye. He told me he has been doing eye surgery for 25 years and has never seen that happen.

I'm pretty much blind in my right eye now. Although my vision is not as milky as it was the day after surgery.

I will be seeing a specialist in a few days to find out if it can be fixed. I'm on FMLA from work because the nature of my job requires me to be able to see well. I'm not sure what the future holds for me, but I am trying not to freak out and I'm taking things one day at a time.

If you wouldn't mind, I could use your thoughts and prayers.

Prayers and well wishes to you for some positive results. Hope they can fix you up again. I've only had sight in one eye for 46 years so I know what it's like. You REALLY have to take care of the other one.

Hmk how are doing man?

It's been a long month and a half. I found a surgeon in Fort Worth. He was honest with me and told me it wasn't going to be an easy fix, but he would try. He described my Iris as being full of holes like a cheese grater. He also put me in contact with an eye specialist in Houston that does silicone Iris transplants. I consulted with them, but they have only done 9 so far and it's just research and not FDA approved. Basically, it would be a last shot at getting  my vision back.

I chose the surgeon in Fort Worth and had surgery Thursday. It was pretty painful towards the end of the surgery, but I managed ok. Patch was removed yesterday and I have vision. It's blurry as all get out, but at least when I look, I'm only seeing 1 item instead of several blurred images. There is at least hope now.

My eye is watering constantly and matted, but he told me not to rub it whatever I do. I do take a wet cloth and just blot the eye lashes so they don't may shut.

I will update you guys next week and I do want to thank everyone who has prayed and kept me in their thoughts. My other eye still has double vision, but I am not going to temp fate and try to repair it at this point.
