I have about 53 lbs of sinkers for sale. The sinkers are egg (1/8,1/4,3/8,and 3/4oz), bank (1/8,1/4,3/8,1/2,3/4,7/8,1,and 1 1/2oz), worm rig(sizes range from 3/32 to 5/8oz and sizes in between). I will sell all of these mentioned sinkers for $115 free shipping. Message me if you want to buy these. I will only sell these in bulk as it would be too difficult to sort. PRICE DROP: I will sell these sinkers for $95 free shipping.

I hate to say this to you but you should have kept them seperated by size!!! People are not going to want to have to sort them.

YES sorting them by size can only help you BUT!!!!!

X2 with what Doc said lots of folks here pour their own, PLUS you also have to watch what states allow sales of smaller size LEAD sinkers!!!! That's why in other threads, we asked why you weren't pouring jigs!!!

Not only do a lot of the people here pour their own, you're trying to sell to the wrong audience. This is JIGcraft. Unless you're talking about split shot for fine weightt adjustment under a float, most people don't use sinkers and jigs together. Yes, the folks here do other types of fishing too, but it's not really what this forum is about.

Try Craigslist, Ebay or another fishing forum where a lot of people use sinkers of those types. Maybe sort them by type and sell them as mixed size lots. I'm sure someone will buy them.

meltleadalot,
I don't want to sound rude or offensive, but you are selling mixed lead for the same price someone can go to Roto-Metals and get lead ingots (cleaned and don't have to worry about water logged) whether soft or alloyed. If you are looking to sell to make some spending money you will need to drop your price. I don't know if you got the lead free or not, but no-one is going to pay you full price.

I can't tell you what to sell them for it's up to you. However Roto-Metals current price is $1.89 alloyed and $2.19 for 99.9%, based on their website + free shipping (clean) as I just bought some. So you will have decide are you trying to sell lead sinkers, that I assume you poured or are you trying to sell lead. Selling poured sinkers will be near impossible to sell as most guys probably don't need the sizes you have. Now if you are selling it as scrap lead, then guys will melt it all down and make ingots out of it and use it for whatever they need. You will have to decide what you are trying to accomplish out of this. Personally lead is lead to me. I've used hard lead, soft lead, lino-type, wheel weights and everything I get pours fine. Yes I know the difference between soft and hard lead, but in reality you are using these for fishing jigs nothing else. Out of curiosity where did you get all of these, if you don't mind me asking?

I just saw Doc Crappies post and again not to offend, but based on what you have I was going to say $1.00 per pound realistically. You would then probably sell it and then you have shipping costs. So you can do the math. I think you should keep the lead like everyone else said and make something with it. JMHO.

Thanks cadman. I will probably remelt the sinkers and make them back into ingots but the 1.00 per pound plus shipping seems like a good price to make a tiny profit. I got the lead for the sinkers from several sources such as tire weights and lead that we USED to have in the house such as old sinker, screw anchors, pellets, etc. before I melted it all and now the only lead in the house is my lead and the lead on our plumbing pipes.

Now I gave you a conservative number, I'm not saying you are going to sell it for $1.00 per pound. Believe it or not Doc Craapies price is what you can get it from a reseller at the scrap yard at whatever they have. If it were me I woulde sell them less per pound, mixed as is in the bucket and not screw around with sorting and remelting them, because you won't get anymore money for it. So why waste the time and energy to re-melt. Sell as is cut your losses and move on.

I will sell my sinkers for 10cents an ounce and I will be making a small profit and not have any loss or just trade them for a few more pounds of pure lead than sinkers I have.

Last time I checked, the shops at the beach where I go are giving .09-10 cents and ounce for plain sinkers. Start adding wires for "sputnik" surf sinkers and they will give a little more.
