Been fishing some in the yak and on the banks for the gill and cracker. Some are ready to work the beds and some are just putting on the colors.
A few pics of the gill and cracker and one a few crappie caught in the yak last month,

Nice pictures SH.

What is that capped PVC tube for? Rods? Keep your fly reels in your vest pockets when walking to the banks you fish? I hope you don't mind my asking.

Thanks guys :)

Pup, it is a rod tube. I have a old Heddon Pal #8409 Mark III 9' rod that I rebuilt so I put a reel in the vest so I could try out the rod. It is a fast action rod and is a sweet rod to use. I used #5 wt with it that day but I think line up to #7 wt will work great with the rod. That is the rod laying beside the tube, can't see it very well.

Bottom left picture , are you in stealth mode to keep from spooking fish? I used to sneak up on them on hands and knees but it's harder to get up now. Redear and gills are bedding here right now. Red's spawn so close to the bank here that I could catch them with a net but a 3wt. rod is a lot more fun. Nice fish, look like the one's here except males here are almost black now.

Jim I was in the process of pulling one of the big males to the bank. Amazing how hard they pull. I fished the river here for the last two days and can't find any shellcrackers on the bed, can't find any working the beds either. All the Bluegill are hand size but they are thick. Even took crickets today but didn't use but a few tipping a 1/80 jig worked under a float.
