Didn't kill em today but did catch 7 crappie with the biggest at 14'' and had a time with an 30'' cat. While landing one of the crappie I had one of my 12' rods bend over so I thought it was hung up on some brush so I clicked it to free spool. After I landed the crappie and got back to the rod there was 856' of line run off. I knew the boat had not moved that much? I picked the rod up and a fish takes off running more line off the reel. I got it stop at 900' after I tightened the drag. It was like pulling in a rock. I wouldn't want to reel in fish that far to often. The reel hold right at 1100' so I had 200' to play with LOL. Here is a picture of one of the crappie and the cat after netted.

Dang Ronnie, you had to pull that cat all the way across the lake. LOL I just ordered 2 more Okuma line counter reels today. I fill them most of the way with cheap 20 lb test, then put about 200 ft of the good stuff on. Glad you had a good trip.
