Hi everyone. I'm thinking about getting the new Do-It Hearing Head Jig mold (HHU-5-A). The recommended hook sizes seem a bit big for me. Can anyone confirm if a 1/0 or 2/0 hook will fit in the 1/8th and 1/4 cavities? Thanks!

I can only tell you that a smaller, or more exactly short legged hooks will get you pouring problems with the collar. Look for thin wired long legged hoogs s.a. matzuo sickles if you want to go smaller in order to keep the shank centered in the collar section. If you want to mod the mold to be collar-less anyway then you won´t have problems.

We use the Eagle Claw #2,#1,1/0,2/0 no problems pouring we also have use the Matzou # 2,#1 no problem's pouring.Make sure and get the mold real hot and use pure clean lead. Not a Pro but what works for us. Have poured several 100 in these hooks no problems. Great Mold.

I have gone as small as a size 1 sickle on the smaller cavities. It works fine, though you may have to remove some flash around the hook eye.
