Finally made the mold. Started with a teardropish blank. View attachment 5 Since I was using the hard Aluminum, my blank (carved from a round rod) flattened ALOT, even with carving out a slot prior to pressing. Another mistake was on the first press I pressed to hard. View attachment 4Took a total of 9 presses to have it completed. View attachment 3 The sprue hole will be shorter in the future.View attachment 2 May attempt to touch up some of the wrinkles later but the jig is balanced. View attachment 6View attachment 7Was shooting for more of a teardrop look without the head ending so flat and it being way less flattened and more round. Kinda how the blank was.

The finished product:

Learned a bunch through the process but for my first attempt I'm satisfied. Much thanks to redear and redman for their knowledge.

Well now that made a good looking lure . Best part is it's specifically yours . That is what I call a real handmade lure . From mold to water .

Nice! :icon14:
Now, when you catch them fish and fry 'em up...that will be the icing on the cake!
Nice looking finished product!

Very cool indeed! I agree with red about it prob being a good vertical jig for deep water. Any idea on approximate weight?
What size eyes?

Thanks everyone and required less patience than y'all think. Can't wait to use 'em!

View attachment 1Wow good job. You can also do the same thing with silicone and an oven and make one off pretty molds. And they dont have to be heated up to pour right.
