Tied up a couple using Buffalo Hair

Fatman said:Thanks all
Pup - Don't know how it will act yet never tried them in the water. Found the patch when I was looking for something else.
SJ - Because I tie flies I find myself getting weird materials in swap box's. I still haven't found the zip bag with camel hair in it yet!!!LOL
LRB - My wife had foot surgery yesterday so just sitting here so doing some tying unless she yells that she needs something. How does the mountain goat compare to Mule deer??? You looking for a trade or just covering the shipping cost???
jiggerjohn said:If ya stack layers of buffalo hair on a shank weighted jig like Hawnjig's "nail head" you can create an awesome weedless, mostly snagfee jig that never causes missed strikes, plus has a very "wild" look (truly one of LRB "bad hair" jigs!!). Fixed with a 3"-5" section of rabbit zonker, a snagfree "jig n eel" is formed that I've taken thru submerged trees and very rocky areas easily. So far, every bass that's taken has been well hooked with very minor setting effort!
And as to the Mountain Goat, it forms a nice, tight, slim minnow like look (doesn't flare like bucktail or other hair) that in thin amounts has nice action(finer fiber than bucktail or kiptail) and compliments a light shade of SF Blend material. This hair (thanks again, ML !!) provides some very realistic "Old Goat Boolies" (OGB) that my grandson especially likes, as this ole Pa is frequently called the" old goat" by the 7 yr old, smart aleck youngster!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
