This will be my last political leaning post this time around.  Providing fact based alternative info to Fox News spin takes time & effort which will now be allocated to closer to home needful tasks.  I say this with reverence and respect, God help those who still consider our president honest and honorable despite, what, 14,000 public statement LIES ?

Thanks to those that took the time to examine & consider my posts.

"U.K. officials report that William Barr appeared in their country with a “wish list” of items he wants to collect from agencies and individuals. Just as in Rome and Australia, Barr is continuing his world-tour “investigation” into the origins of Trump’s Russia scandal. And just as in those places, local officials are gob-smacked to see that Barr is genuinely, seriously trying to destroy U.S. intelligence agencies in the service of supporting conspiracy theories that not only declare the innocence of Donald Trump, but protect Vladimir Putin. What Barr is not just determined to prove, but absolutely certain to proclaim, is that Russia never had anything to do with the 2016 election.

That’s why Barr is still out there, developing the counterattack. The Great Distraction. And to get there, the attorney general of the United States is willing, perfectly willing, to gut the intelligence agencies and national security of the nation."

And what was our choice - Hillary?

Honest and honorable are two words that don't come to mine in the same sentence as with the Clintons

To summarize and clarity the original post:

RESOLUTION
Calling for the resignation and disbarment of United States Attorney General William P. Barr, and for other purposes.

Whereas, on March 24, 2019, United States Attorney General William P. Barr deliberately mischaracterized the “Report On The Investigation Into Russian Interference In The 2016 Presidential Election” issued by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller, III;

Whereas, on March 25, 2019, at Attorney General Barr’s direction, the Department of Justice ceased defending the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law 111–148), a duly enacted law under the United States Constitution;

Whereas, on April 24, 2019, Attorney General Barr directed then-Acting Assistant Attorney General John Gore of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division to defy a subpoena from the House Oversight and Reform Committee pertaining to its investigation of the 2020 census;

Whereas, on July 8, 2019, Attorney General Barr deliberately mischaracterized the legal reasoning behind the Trump administration’s desire to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census and abruptly removed career Department of Justice attorneys in an unprecedented attempt to undermine a ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States;

Whereas, on July 16, 2019, Attorney General Barr ignored the recommendation of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division by declining to bring charges against the New York Police Department officer in the death of Eric Garner;

Whereas, on July 17, 2019, the United States House of Representatives voted to hold Attorney General Barr in criminal contempt of Congress for his refusal to comply with a duly-issued subpoena and deliberate obstruction of congressional oversight authority;

Whereas, on December 4, 2019, Attorney General Barr threatened the withholding of police protection from communities that do not show “support and respect” to law enforcement, a statement that has been interpreted as being directed at communities of color that protest police violence;

Whereas Attorney General Barr has perpetuated and promulgated conspiracy theories that have been repeatedly debunked by United States law enforcement and intelligence agencies, including before a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, where he referred to legitimate and legal law enforcement surveillance as “spying”, and while traveling abroad to meet with foreign intelligence officials where he has continued to spread this disinformation;

Whereas Attorney General Barr has used taxpayer funds for international travel to seek foreign assistance in investigating a domestic political rival of the President of the United States;

Whereas Attorney General Barr has sought to undermine the Department of Justice inspector general’s report “Review of Four FISA Applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane Investigation”, regarding the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s investigation of the Trump campaign; and

Whereas Attorney General Barr has refused to recuse himself from any Ukraine-related matters in which he is allegedly involved: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the House of Representatives—

(1) condemns United States Attorney General William P. Barr for his despicable comments and actions;

(2) calls on United States Attorney General William P. Barr to resign;

(3) calls on the Virginia State Bar to remove United States Attorney General William P. Barr from its rolls;

(4) calls on the New York State Bar Association to remove United States Attorney General William P. Barr from its rolls;

(5) calls on the District of Columbia Bar to remove United States Attorney General William P. Barr from its rolls;

(6) reaffirms support for the diversity of the United States; and

(7) reaffirms, in the strongest terms, its support for and commitment to the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Good! :icon14:

There are many folks over here who still look back on socialism. The main reason for that is the comfort they find in defying a west that just can`t stop winning the cold war and keeps rubbing it in. It is not a matter of reason or lack of information.

Bucho, is animosity towards the USA increasing since our presidential changeover in 2017 ?

Is there also increased sentiment for favoring closer ties with Russia ?

Is there a segment of your society that also looks back wistfully on the fervent nationalism of pre-world war 2 Germany ?

1. No. Left and right agree that your president is a piece of work but that doesn`t change the attitude towards your country. The human rights violations around Guantanamo and the big data abuse in the aftermath of 9/11 all through the Obama administration have had a far more alianating effect.

2. No. The ties with Russia go back to former Chancellor Schroeder who today is a Gazprom board member. The U.S. embargo on German Companies who participate on North Stream II is not helping though. We do not apreciate this kind of diplomacy.

3. A lot of people have issues with migration and overwhelming burocracy -both extend your U.S. imagination - and the media is quick to call them nazis but the general perception is that those times where miserable no matter how you put it. I cannot deny that there are folks who seek a boost of self-esteem and camradery in right wing movements but the overwhelming mayority, particularly the ones who have a say in things, has learned their lesson. We are doing far to well with free trade and everything. This does not seem to have changed in my time.

Thank you Bucho.

I'm surprised that here in the USA a president can publicly lie over 15,000 times and still have enuf support to be considered re-electable.

There are 99 ways to manipulate people and compromise the truth. Trump is blunt, others are sneaky. Sneaky isn`t for everybody. Just like Hookup said, many people are under the impression they can`t do much about it anyway and develop a better-the-devil-you-know attitude, or, in case of Trump, a better-the-devil-you-can-relate-to. That feeling is not confined to your continent.

I'm not sure yet, believe it or not, it is not illegal to lie to the FISA court. But it is illegal to conspire, so we are just gonna have to wait on the investigation to complete. I do believe the lawyer that changed the wording on the email on Carter Paige is gonna have charges brought against him. That is gonna be a tough one to get out of...

Me (or you) lying in court = perjury (a felony).  Lying 15,000x as President of the United States = executive privelege.

My staunchly Trump supporting friend Dwight believed from his internet sources that Inspector General Horowitz's report would lay groundwork to criminally indict among others former Secretary of State Clinton and former President Obama for conspiracy, treason, and other high crimes.  As I recall Special Counsel Mueller and former FBI Directors Comey & McCabe were also targets.

So we'll indeed have to wait for Durham & Barr to finalize their criminal investigation of the Russia collusion investigators.

Hahaha, depending on the 2020 election its possible the investigators of the investigators will be investigated.

Yup, all this time & effort pointing fingers. What happened to better healthcare, tax relief and living wages for those that need it most, infrastructure, reducing the deficit, protection from food contamination and dangerous chemicals, preventing mass shootings, etc. ?

And most importantly, our leaders setting a good example of honesty and dignity ?

Why is Attorney General Barr, the top law enforcement official in the USA continuing to block full disclosure of the unredacted Mueller Report? And why have only redacted "summaries" of the Trump - Zelensky phone calls been released? Why block testimony from Justice Dept. and administration subpoenaed witnesses? What is Barr hiding ?

It might be noteworthy that the man in control of the Senate impeachment trial has as of today stalled 32 Democrat and 283 BIPARTISAN House of Representatives passed bills from review and vote in the Senate. Not to say Senator McConnell hasn't been bizzy tho, he has comfirmed the appointment of 187 Trump appointed judges to federal courts positions.

Jig Man, my first reaction to your dig was to feel insulted and fluff it off, but now realize that would make me no different from those who have been persuaded by Fox News experts like Hannity, Carlson, Pirro, etc. to consider Socialists-Liberals-Democrats as the same disgusting mob whose fake news and witch hunts should be ignored.  Ironic isn't it that the party supporting the man of 15,000 lies should accuse the other side of deception?

Socialism advocates the dissolution of private property and community control of the production and distribution of goods.  Who among those seeking public service office has proposed that?

Bernie Sanders is a Democratic Socialist.  If interested this is what it means.
https://www.dsausa.org/about-us/what-is-democratic-socialism/

Voting is a patriotic action and we should consider all voters as fellow Americans.  Anger subverts reason, and while I can't speak for others I prefer to be suspicious of negative emotion triggering LIES and dig for actual FACTS.

No shade on you Jig Man, I respect your right to express your point of view and appreciate your participation.

Didn't mean it as a dig, just stating facts. That is our only two options at this point. I once was a democrat, but the party is moving too far left for me. I don't trust the republicans much either, I think as a whole they would be just fine with more government control. Personally I think the states should govern themselves. Our out of control spending is going to be our down fall. Don't assume I'm a big Fox news supporter either, but I also don't put much credit in the MSM either. I try to wait for the facts to come out, and sift thru the B.S. before forming my opinions.

I'm just thankful to be a part of this experiment in self government... Just look how far we have come, and what we have accomplished. I just hope it doesn't self destruct in my life time.

I'm wondering if the USA pulling out of the Iran deal wasn't part of a deliberate plan to invade another brown people country?  Years down the road Iran is now the latest boogeyman..  "Communism" was our excuse in Korea and Vietnam, and "Radical Islam" in Iraq & Afghanistan.  War profiteers now control military policy with industry insider Mark Esper the head of the DOD and Trump wants to show what a tuff guy he is.

If the USA escalates military actions against Iran we will likely not have EU support and might provoke Muslim nations to form a defensive alliance.  Its obvious which way Russia and China will swing.  China drove our military out of North Korea long before they became an economic and military superpower, and did the same in Vietnam with hardly an effort.  Guess who's waiting for our South Korean military assets to be redeployed?

Hopefully unlikely, but if the conflict goes nuclear we are all toast.

Meanwhile Bill Barr ignoring his duty to serve the American people travels the world to corroborate Putin's defenses of the president.

Indeed Jig Man "self destruct in my life time" may be possible.
