Big n' bright bass jigs

Tied some of heads i recently painted. These are all 1/4oz (leadfree) with 1/0 Gamakatsu hooks. Think they turned out really nice and hopefully will hook into a few bass with them. These are 'new' all around...... new head styles with some new colors of silicone tabs and even some chenille i have yet to use. May even get a chance to throw them from some shoreline this coming weekend.

First two i tied were jig/pig style with chenille body and craft fur tail. Most jig/pigs i use are mostly dark colored and worked slowly along bottom - so really not sure about these yet. Wanted to keep them bright along with the bright/reflective heads. Will have to give them a try (and gain some confidence in them) before i make more J/P's in such loud colors.

I am pretty confident in using large tube jigs in bright colors tho - these should do the trick. Some more new silicone tab colors and chenille colors here also.

Could almost call this last one Tony The Tiger... didn't really plan it out that way in my head but, used a variegated orange/black and variegated yellow/white weave that ended up looking like tiger stripes.

.....have to excuse the funny angle of the siding in the background and odd crop shapes. Ended up rotating them around before i saved them since i took them at strange angles to get the silicone to hang somewhat right.

Hopefully the bass in your area will have some access to sunglasses. Those are BRIGHT & COLORFUL. But I have a suspicion that they will get mauled by some bucket mouth.

I really liked " tony " and would not be surprised if some walleye would jump on that.

Great ties Russ!! If you take that last jig & scale it down to a 1/8oz-#2 sickle, you'd HAMMER some crappie on Palestine.

I like the Gamakatsu hooks too. Their offset worm hooks have been a favorite of mine for a long time.

Thanks everyone - of all the ones so far, my personal favorite is the third one down. Think the gold/brown mix is gonna work some magic. That first one shoore is bright and has a punch, will be interested to see what the fish think.

PanfishHunter - I have tutorials for both patterns posted on the Patterns/Recipes Page......

Jig 'n' Zonk - pretty much the same idea, but used silicone skirt tab (mixed colors but used equivalent of one full tab per jig) and craft fur

Tube Mimic - only thing different is that i did not have to create the body with yarn as in step one of the tutorial. These new jigs have a lead collar so was able to tie in the silicone just behind the collar and use that to build up enough of a taper from the shank to the lead.... if that makes any sense

Man those are gorgeous jigs. The bright colors would work well down here in south Fl., where we have flashy cichlad's and other invasive exotic baitfish. I really like the tube mimic idea. You have inspired me!
