A new way for making shad profile jigs, the idea awhile back i had. A little backwards, it seems i may be. Already know this, many of you do. Over the top, this one may put it. OK - enough with the Yoda talk - requires too much thought! 
Finally got around to trying this. The bucktail was tied in first (on a 90* bent aberdeen) then the shot crimped over top as i splayed out the bucktail fibers with my other hand. Had to drill out a little of the center of the split shot first so it would close flat around the thread where the bucktail was tied in.
The result worked as planned... the bucktail does not completley collapse and lay down around the shank, it keeps the broad/flat side look when it is wet. This one was fairly big - 3" in overall length & has a #2 aberdeen - but in a smaller size this could possibly make a decent impression of a YOY bluegill. Way too much work to mass produce, but i may do a few more just for sheetz & giggles. Just an odd-ball random thought.
