This is what I'm calling the bearded dragon, I was a day late for hie "tie in" or I would have participated. Anyway, when I saw his first jig I though, man a bucktail wing or beard as I call it, and a zonker for the tail with fur tied in, great, I'm going to try it and here is what I did. My bearded dragon is a 3/32oz walleye hard painted black, a black barred white and chartreuse UV2 rabbit zonker is tied for the tail and then surrounded by arctic fox hair. I know you can't see it in the pic but it is there and in person it looks fantastic, at least to me it does. Anyway, after the arctic fox I tied in black ultra chenille, and I chose that as it is less bulky so I could put it closer to the jighead without it flairing the bucktail too much. Once I finished the chenille I took some chartreuse bucktail and tied in the "beard" or wing but I really think this will be a great pattern, so thank you all, everyone here has been a great help and thanks AtticaFish for that pattern, I liked it if you didn't know by now!!

Looks like a winner to me! :jig:

I like the bucktail wing (or at least on the top side) on long zonker ties since the stiffer fiber help keep the zonker out the back and not flipping up over the hook.

One thing i did on the tie i made over the weekend was after tying in the cactus chenille and locking it down, trim the top section of the chenille fibers to help keep the bucktail flat. That is almost a must with the longer fibers of cactus.
