Anyone have experience pouring spinnerbait or buzzbaits?

I just received my molds for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits today. I have been making a J bend in the wire and putting the hook on there then crimping it down prior to pouring. I only get about every 3rd one to come out correct. The skirt keeper on the hook is unfinished 2/3 of the time. I am using smoking hot lead and pouring it fast. Does anyone have any tips?

Tried tilting the mold? Which mold are you using? Could try heating the wire and hook? Or pouring faster?

Smoking hot lead is not good. Tilting & getting as close to the sprue hole should work. Coating your mold with a release agent or smoking would be another option. Scratching vents will work too.

pouring spinner baits and buzz baits are tricky!! They are eaiser to pour with a lee hot pot 2 .

I got the same problem. Heating the mold & hooks help too
