Another Guide's Choice Hare's Ear

Guide's Choice Hare's Ear, size 16. Tungsten bead head, with lead wire underbody. One major deviation from the classic pattern is that I used some Mirage Flashabou for the tail. Intended use for this bug is actually as an ice fly for ice fishing.

Nice tie. Those little things are killer through the ice, just have to be careful how full you make the hackle collar. Too much collar and they take forever to sink.

Did you make it out on the ice this year? Think my ice season is officially over with this warm spell.

Yes, I did get out, a grand total of 5 times. Got bites, but never hooked up. Hoping to get a sonar here *soon*. I'm thinking about a Garmin Striker 4. Something I can use both on my kayak and ice fishing.

I actually fished one of the flies out of this particular pattern. Didn't catch anything, though.
