Another Canadian trip in the books. Best so far for big fish and numbers. Nice variety too. Started with a 17 hour drive. We stopped about 12 hours into the drive then bought food and got a hotel. Then woke early, drove the remaining 5 hours, and fished the rest of the day. Fish started biting right away. Got to the point where we stoped taking pix of 18" small we had so many. Fished for the next six days 8-10 hours/day, then ate, had a few barley pops, then slept for the next day. Black flies were out, but they pretty much left us alone. Mosquito's were a differed story. They were vicious and on steroids. Last day we fished until noon, then took to the road and got a hotel after about 9 hours of driving. The next day took us 9-10 hours to get home because of all the construction on the roads. Even got a few bonus fish. Those pike were mean and scary

Odd - one time the pix are to large, the next time I sign on the system automatically resized them. Keep trying Hawn

Looks like an amazing trip. Those are some giant smallies. Always love to see the color variations in them. 2nd to last pic.... that fish almost looks BLUE! Glad you enjoyed your self and that type of trip is definitely a bucket list trip for me some day.

*I edited the pictures in the post so they should all show up now. Not sure why they were having trouble with the auto re-size*

Wowza, don't think I've even SEEN smallies that big.

8-10 hrs. on the water seems EXHAUSTING. No walleye breaks?

What lures were working, and what size/type line is optimal?

Thx Attica - there are a bunch of lakes and rivers in that region and all are full of small mouth, pike, and walleye

Hawn - I have never targeted walleye but those that did were trolling. To boring for me. My buddy and I worked the banks to whole time with the exception of an island here and there.

Each day the fish wanted some thing different. We used allot of stick baits and jacks worms. Some days the fish wanted light color, other's dark. Initially, fish wanted nothing to do with my favorite bait - a fluke. By the end of the trip they were hammering them.

The pikes were scary - tried to bite you any chance they got
