This is a 1/8oz round head jig with a 3/0 60 degree flat eye hook. I have a black marbou tail that is tied in straight and then I hackle tied some white marabou for some contrast. I then used fine rust dubbing for the body and on the suggestion of a friend I left a long tag end when I put down the thread base then I cut of the thread and started again leaving a second tag end hanging from the back. Once everything was tied in and I tied the brown hackle in I moved up the the head using the rust dubbing and then I palmered the brown hackle forward like any other bugger but once I finished I then brought the the two long tag ends up through and over the hackle reinforcing it but creating a segmented look on the dubbing. I know it doesn't mean anything to the fish but I really liked the way it came out and added another element to the dubbing which in that rust color is pretty plain.

Some times subtle changes in a lure makes a difference . Take Woorden's rooster tail,s for instance . when they first came out the hackle fly was tied the treble . Then it changed and the fly was tied on the shank . It increased the catch and sales dramatically . No one know why it made the difference . Guess guess we have to chalk it up to the perception of the fish . They see in a different spectrum than we do .
