Got out this morning while it was still cool out. Little flies hatching with little fish rising. But I was after the big boys. I brought my Hellgrammite flies to test out. What can I say? EPIC morning. I must have hooked up with fish almost every cast. Some shook themselves off, some where LDR's, some I got pics of... but mostly I didn't have time to take pics of all the fish because the action was too heavy! About every 5th fish or hookup I paused and got the camera ready...
I got a warmwater slam the first 3 casts of the day! A SMB, a LMB, and a fallfish!
Tadpoles!!! EVERYWHERE!! the banksides were LOADED!
The last hole I fished got scoured out by this year's flooding. I only could perch myself on a small gravel bar at the tail of this pool. I broke out the sinking line since it looked to be 20-30 ft. deep now. Fish were everywhere in this pool... but also a half submerged tree. I only got 2 fish until I broke my last hellgrammite fly off and called it a day.
