Since moving here from infested crappie in Texas...lol.. I attempted to catch my first tiger musky and succeeded, although, the fish was 4" short of 40" limit, he was a trophy to me. Caught on a 1/16 black head with red feather and silver flash.

Here in New Mexico we are experiencing the worst drought in years. I found out yesterday from the wildlife department that the lake I normally fish will be drained for irrigation purposes. This will make the fourth lake dried up and three others not boat accessible.

Well, another success story. My little lucky charm (sloedown) and I headed to the creek and caught our limit of 50. I would have caught more but had to tutor my little buddy on the art of crappie fishing:D

Curious to know what type of rod and reel you use to catch crappie? Myself, I prefer a 10' Sam Heaton Super Sensitive with a Hi-Tech bait casting reel from Doc Crappie. Since I jig fish pretty much open water I like the feel of the rod for that certain thump.

Yesterday, after recieving a kitchen pass from the wife, me and my buddy went to our favorite honey hole and caught 56 crappie. Threw 6 smaller ones over the side to keep our legal limit of 25 each. Started slow at dawn but then the fish woke up and it was every man for himself. GREAT DAY!
