    Painting heads

I agree with the others Jim, very nice work. My river is just now becoming fish able and those you sent me are slated for my next trip out. I went experimenting and did well last Saturday so now the light rods and the hair and feathers come out. I’ll post pics when I go.

    Jig head stash

Kinda what I find when I go look for something, more than I thought I had. I don’t have near what you have but I still pour so the sky is the limit. And you do need to fish more.

Knocked the dust off the Peak

I like em and I think the fish will too. My river nearby is just now slowing down and letting the Crappie move to more predictable places. Those would fall slow which is always a hit around here.

    Best Mold for Tie Guys

I’m using much smaller than you guys. Seems lately that I’m fishing as light as I can find braid and a 4 lb leader or 10lb braid with a 25lb leader in the salt. The fresh gets most of my stuff done on a #8 sickle that comes from a do it 1/32 pro mold at 1/43. Started with some Matzuos I had left...

been away awhile here are some of my latest

Very nice work. I really like the third one down on the right. Tied like that with slight flash and color variation will be a good producer.

    I’m a sucker

I also picked up a few other blanks so stay tuned, there’s more to come.

    I’m a sucker

For a deal and a new rod. Mudhole being close is both a blessing and a curse. I come out the door with more blanks than I should. I get the occasional deal and here I go again. There was a project rod that was incomplete and the owner didn’t want to fool with it as it was given to him and too...

    New business

A little update on one of the rods I posted for this. The first one that’s trimmed in pink has a new home. I have a friend that does me favors all the time. He recently did me some wire retainers onto a few hundred of my trolling and other plastics jigs down to size 8. When I asked him what I...

    Active posts

I pop in now and then and always remember the glory days. Some of us have gone through some changes and are missed. Ledhed always made me smile and taught me more than he will ever know. I’ll stop back more regular now that I see a little movement. Tight lines folks.

Glad to hear Doug, enjoy your retirement. My checks are coming and my days answering the alarm are numbered.

    New business

Not much has been posted here so I thought I’d start things going again, maybe. I’ve built some nice rods in the past year or so and I’m happy with the results. I’ve also done some builds and rebuilds for myself and friends, each one with its own learning curve. Mostly Fenwick blanks and with...

    Celebration of Life trip

Wonderful fish but bittersweet trip. Sorry about Dad. That condition is brutal. Glad that it all went smoothl, planning ahead relieved a lot of the stress.

An idea you might want to try to extend the life of soft plastics

Good idea spoon. I use the thread on the. Olaf idea which works ok but not always as good as I think it should. I’ll have to give this a shot. Thanks. and just a reference to what hookup posted: I’ve long been a fan of small heads for UL fishing. My suggestion is to check the actual weight of...

    Prototyping an inchiku jig mold

My son in law has bought a 22’ CC and likes to go out about 20 miles off of Daytona and fish some trash that he finds on the depth finder. I’ve spoken to him about vert jigging but I think it falls on deaf ears. An extremely effective method and exciting too. Little in life is better than a...

    SKULL HEADS

My first thought when I first saw them was the rings that Sonny wore. They would be real close in design. The idea of a chin spin appeals to me. Cool looking heads Jim and some nice work on the paint.

    Electronics Forum

This is a very old thread but I’ve come to the point that I feel like I don’t know much about todays fishdinders. My last ones were 798s, I had two, and an 898. I left them on boats I sold to force myself into upgrading. I dont have lots of room for a large unit as I’m in a 16’ Jon. Have to have...

Howdy Sam, fancy meeting you here. I don’t have any issues getting this to cooperate and I’m using safari.

I’d use some of those, nice work. How heavy are they? They’d show up well in the dark water I fish a lot.
