    Let's talk thread

    OK, I went to the craft store with my wife yesterday and was amazed at the hundreds of colors and types of threads they had. Has anyone tried using these. Some were Rayon, Nylon, Silk, Polyester, Cotton, or blends of these. I was thinking about waxing some and giving them a try.

    Jack Russel

    My stupid dog killed my neighbors chicken to day. I told them I was sorry, but the whole time I was looking at the feathers trying to think of a way to grab a few for myself. I may go back tonight;) I love that dog.

    Weavers knot

    Broke the thread in the middle of a tie last night and thought it was ruined then I remembered a weavers knot. It was easy to tie without unwraping much and the tails can be cut off compleatly with out weakening the knot:)

    Orvis

    I was in Pigeon Forge last week and and they have a huge Orvis store there. I stoped thinking I would pick up some new materials, man was I ever dissapointed!!!! Only a small part of the store even had fishing equipment and the fly tying section was worse. MY wife thought they had some nice...

    kip tail

    Tied my first jigs with kip tail. It was harder for me to tie with because it was fuzzier but I like the way it still stays fuzzy when it gets wet. I wish I had bought more colors. Black buck tail with purple kip tail belly, I will try to get some pictures tomorrow.
