    Took my coupon for JoAnn and for less than $5 dollars have a decent result. I had a green and pink. 4 Tablespoons of Salt with 4 cups of water hot water. Add ingredients and stir. One hour later I pulled. I dyed a chunk of snow goose feathers.

    Wind was not fun but found some biters! Still deep. The upgrade to 1/4 and 1/8 is still working. The belly spinner was a new winner. I had been using the 1/16 oz chart/pink/satin. The 1/8 is working better.

    Going with 1/4oz this weekend!

    1/4 oz with #1 hook. Pink has been the hot color. Also going to try the Rosey's clear coat over the lead. Clear Coat lead has 2013 bucktail tails. The pink has kip tail or a nice blue hackle.

    IL 041914

    Another good day on the water. I thought the white bass was a crappie! Was ready for the taxidermy!!! Pink is still hot. Caught a couple on plastic also. Water temp is now 55 and the eggs are getting a little bloody.

    Mylar Straight to the hook!

    I make something just like this for gills......why not crappies. Raining here today so time to tie a couple jigs! This head is a mod to a 1/32 to make the football. I have not put it on a scale. #4 sickle hook attached to this gem.

    Hydro goo jigs RonDon inspired bigger is better!

    So I have been experimenting on the water this year with larger jigs. In Illinois you can spend a career on 1/16 oz. I am using more this year 1/4 and 1/8oz. Pic below is 1/8oz with a #1 hook. Been using a #1 more this year than ever before. RonDon continues to inspire me to move south!!!!

    Finally on the water in IL

    Spider rigging today....water temp was 43 degrees. Pink flank with green head was by far best. I put wool underneath. Caught over 30 kept 15 which is the limit.
