    Actual jig weight

All the jig heads I buy here locally are 1/32 or 1/16 and have collars that I cut off. I don't have a scale so I'm curious to know what they weigh after the collar is cut off. Could anybody possibly enlighten me. Also....I was given an unopened pack of Luck-E-Strike minnow heads. The packages...

Lake Norfolk (Is it April Yet?)

Has anyone ever fished on Lake Norfolk in Arkansas. I've never fished it but I've always been told it was a great lake for Slab Crappie, both large and smallmouth bass and lots of other fish. I Just made plans with a group of my good friends to take a fishing trip there at the beginning of...

    Double cone boolie

Ran out of lead heads this morning so I was tying some with cone heads. Put this boolie together to see how well it would work with two cones instead of a cone and a bead. Prop spins nicely. I think it looks good and will work good. What ya'll think.

    Jig finish for NP users

For those of you who use nail polish to paint your heads this is the jig finish I use. It works great and is much more durable than Sally's Hard as Nails Clear coat and much easier than using a two part epoxy. I just dip a painted head in the jar then tap it till excess drips off then give it a...

    Googily Eyed Whatchamacallit

First you smash a ballhead into a pillhead then slap some paint and dollar store craft eyes on it. Then you close your eyes and grab some material from scrap pile, tie it on the hook shaft and BAM you have a Googily Eyed Whatchamacallit.

Love Me Some Crappie and Taters!

Unfortunately I have not yet been able to get on the water this winter and feed my Crappie addiction but Fortunately one of my cousins has and he helped me curb my cravings a little today. He fishes Truman Lake and Lake of the Ozarks a lot and they have been doing pretty good. He had a Gatherin...

    Dying Satin,Feathers,and Hair

I am curious to know what kind of dye is best to use to color white satin, feathers, hair. I have a lot of white satin and I would like to dye pieces of it different colors rather than buying the different colored fabrics. (I know I'm Cheap) I have been using markers to color it and it works but...

    Purple and White

Here are a few jigs I'm tying for my best friend. I was telling him about the wool and satin jigs I was reading about and learning to tie. Just like me he is pretty anxious to get on the water and try them out.

    Box-O-Satin

I was given a box full of satin scraps and satin ribbon today. A little bit of the ribbon is another kind of fabric. It seems very similar to satin. Seems durable but its softer and has more of a sheen to it. I'm going to have to stock back up on jig heads cause with all this material I'm gonna...

    Some New Spinners

My son was sorting the jigs I gave to him for christmas this evening and Informed me that he thought my jigs were Awesome but that I didn't tie him any spinners of any kind. I decided to sit down and tie a few for him. I think he will like them and I hope the fish will too. Nowadays I think I...

    Tail Length

Of course the answers to this question will be different depending on the species of fish. Today I'm referring to Crappie jigs. I know there are variations in opinions on the length the tail of a jig or the overall length of a jig should be. Sometimes I think I tie my tails too long but seems to...

    A few from last night.

Couldn't sleep last night so I tied a few. Mix of heads, purple satin, marabou, and krystal flash. Let me know if any of these catch your eye more than the others. Critique them for me but don't be to harsh I tied them at like 3am :P

    Satin

I didn't think I was going to like using Satin on my jigs but I was wrong. It is a great material to work with. Pulling and separating the strands really wasn't as bad as I had envisioned it being. Tonight I used some and tied a couple "practice" jigs.
