    Oh boy, fun time!

Found two of these dead on the ground at work this morning. Decided to check my home lake to see if any were coming off this evening. No dice there. Get ready, folks, the Hex's are coming!

Some days you're the bug, some days you're the windshield...

Got rear-ended today on my way to my night job. Low-speed impact, some damage but nothing really severe. No broken glass, tail lights all work. NO INJURIES!! No airbags deployed. Commerical pickup truck hit me. That business's insurance is taking care of everything. Guy driving the truck...

Not a fly, but a dressed treble...

Mods, if this is not an appropriate place to post, feel free to move it. I couldn't think of a spot. Anyway, earlier this week, I was fishing at one of my little "bait holes", a creek that's just absolutely chock-full of Green Sunnies (at least, it used to be). First night, I was catching...

    Well, that stinks!

Last Friday, I went fishing. Managed to bring home some nice catfish as well. Apparently, I brought home something more than some catfish. My vehicle has been smelling like fish for days. Nothing truly rank, more like my cast net being still wet from the shad slime. Which was exactly what I...

Do we have a "Fishing Failures" board????

Yesterday, I was using one of my surf rods. I was making long-range casts with a 2 oz weighted float, suspending some cut bait about 4' below the surface for catfish. There was NO action at all. After about an hour, I was ready to call it a wash and go to Plan B. I decided to make one more...

Here's my size 14 GFA Hopper

I realized that the GFA Hoppers, size 8, that I normally fish are just to big for the size of the Bluegills that have been hitting my flies. Tied up some size 14 on TMC 2302 hooks. I added the pink strike indicator, as I was having troubles seeing the hoppers while fishing from my kayak. The bug...

    Today's ties

Over a week ago, I finally found some white wool roving at my local Hobby Lobby. Finally got around to doing some wool and satin jigs. I used the Ruby Slipper powder for the heads. The metallic red embroidery yarn matches the stuff perfectly! Also did some grey over white bucktails. I...

Ok, my buddy that's headed to Canada in May hasn't received the jigs I tied for him

So I'm going to give you all a peak at what I did for him. 1/16 oz ball head w/ collar. He said "smoke", this is what I came up with. I actually want to tie some more of these and try them below Keystone Dam for Stripers. Pretty good baitfish imitation. 1/16 oz Walleye Head, painted olive...

Did my first Brush Tapping today....

With glitter. I tried following AF's advice. Did the first color (chartreuse), some glitter mixed with 200% Clear, then a dip into plain 200% Clear. Looked good before I cured. After I cured, I noticed it had dripped! Most of the glitter flowed down off the head onto collar and/or shank...

    Pretty Water Lake 04/06/2015

After I couldn't catch any Crappie in one of my home lakes, I went to the other one (just 1/4 mile away) and tried to harass some fish there. Ended up catching three Bluegills on the Peacock and Starling micro-jig, under a weighted float.
