I tied these almost a year ago. Used size 12, 3xl curved-shank hooks for them. The orange one is deer hair, while the grey one is actually Caribou. The grey version is as close to the classic as I can get, and man, those things catch fish! I've tied a couple dozen of them and swapped them around. Also tied some in bigger sizes, including a size 4, 4xl streamer hook, intended for Striped Bass in the river with my 8wt.

All of my fly pics are on the HDD of a computer that has a fried power supply. If I can ever get that fixed...... Luckily, I have a lot of my fly pics on Facebook :)

20 - 30 minutes each. Not the most economical use of time management. But, I will admit to an addiction to topwater fishing. Seeing the splash of a strike gets me going.

Nice ties - I've really got to buckle down and learn how to spin deer hair - some of the old classic Catskill dry flies have a trimmed deer hair body

Nice ties! I always stayed away from muddlers because of the work and the mess you get from clipping deer hair, but they are very procuctive flies and look far better than any foam work. :icon14:

I need to find the pic of the ones I tied on a size 4 streamer hook. BIG Muddlers, intended for Striped Bass :)
